Dugan's Leather Joker-Bill Ely-1952

Here's a "true crime" story illustrated by Bill Ely in 1952. If he's remembered at all today, Ely is generally recalled as the artist on DC's RIP HUNTER, TIME MASTER series of the early sixties. His style there was simplified almost to the point of being bland. Here, only a decade earlier, Ely shows what he could really do with a much more distinctive, illustrative style as well as excellent storytelling for what's essentially a piece with all talking heads.
