Happy Daize-Kid Comics-1943

Not sure if this character ever appeared again. It's a pleasant little fantasy with interesting layouts but its burdened with a cloyingly cute lead who speaks in rhyme.

I admit I was surprised by the protagonist's semi-nudity, especially in the last panel of the first page. I wonder just when showing a little boy's butt or a little girl's frilly underwear ceased being "cute" and became creepy. There was a lot of that sort of thing, especially the latter, in Golden Age humor comics. Or maybe it was always creepy but everyone pretended not to notice. The colorist may have changed his/her mind halfway through. On the last two pages Happy seems to be wearing red flannels under his onesie. That may simply be poor printing.
